It doesn't matter if you just graduated hair school, or have an established clientele and have been doing extensions for years. Foundation Hair Extensions is so different and unique, that it won't matter if you've done extensions before or not. We often are told by stylists who have done extensions for years that this is a “completely different approach” to extensions. They love it and can implement our approach with other methods they also offer. For less experienced stylists, because this class covers EVERY ASPECT of hair extensions, it is a GREAT class for stylists looking to get into extensions.

Upon successful completion of the retreat along with a clear demonstration of the process, concepts, techniques and ability to reasonably perform the Foundation Hair Extension Method, You will receive a Foundation Hair Extension certificate you can take with you to proudly display.

You will also gain access to private channels with Shaylie and other Alumni to discuss processes, ask questions and get help as you continue to perfect this method.

NOTE: You’re NOT Guaranteed to become certified by attending a retreat. You must be willing to listen, learn, follow instructions and reasonably demonstrate the entire Foundation Hair Extension method to the retreat instructor.

Well, guess what… I am a terrible braider! That is part of how this special technique of braiding was born! I could not do a braid to save my life in hair school, and I still can’t french braid hair. My family was famous for braided hair extensions and I couldn’t braid. Months and months of trial and error. I finally found my own unique way of creating the braids that worked for me and it turns out it is so gentle it works on EVERYONE! And ANYONE can do it! Even terrible braiders! I have never had someone attend my class that I couldn’t teach it to. Everyone who takes my class leaves being able to do Foundation braids!

YEAH. It’s a tried and true method that has stood the test of time and trends. Braided sew-ins have been around forever! There are lots of different versions- just like beaded methods. They all are unique in their own way. Have you heard of protective braid styles? It’s because braids are so healthy for your hair! The first methods of braided hair extensions goes all the way back to ancient Egypt. Mummies have been found with hair extensions still braided into their hair. There is a reason this method is still around after all of these years.

Just like beaded methods, each braided method is a little different. There are lots of different types of braiding techniques. They all are amazing and serve a purpose! Foundation Hair Extensions is truly a unique method of braiding. The way that we create our braids is not done with excessive tension or excess pulling on the hair. It is a unique braiding pattern with specific hand placement that creates a strong, solid braided foundations without pulling the hair. Making it extremely comfortable and safe for ALL HAIR TYPES! I can do it on ANYONE! No matter how thin and fine, or coarse and thick. Also, it is ergonomically correct for the Stylist to do!

Aside from our unique way of braiding, we also do some very special and technical things to our braids before we sew hair onto them. It really is the magic behind making this method work in all hair types! Those special secrets were taught to me by my amazing grandmother, Linda, who specialized in this method for over 35 years. Ensuring that they never slide out or “slip”. These special techniques- that have worked for so many clients for so many years- make this method a tested, tried and true, solid, and safe method for all!

Did you know I have Rheumatoid arthritis and I braid hair all day long? This is what I specialize in. I do it all day long, 5 days a week. I could not continue doing it if it was hurting me physically. When I say the way we create our braids is different, I mean it. Think about how relaxed your hands would be if you were not doing something that required excessive tension or pulling. It may be hard to wrap your mind around, but hopefully you will come to class so I can teach you!

You are responsible to bring your own shears, a flat iron, and your own tripod. Everything else is provided in your kit!  

Included in your 5 night stay is your welcome dinner, beyond that we make all other meals easy by booking reservations. Should you choose, stylists are free to attend budget friendly group dinners where you are responsible for your own meals. We also start off our retreat with a group trip to the grocery store where you are able to stock up on all you might need during your time with us. Further information on this is will be sent in your welcome email post registration.

We require all of our students and Alumni to sign and adhere to our NDA policies. The sole purpose of our NDA is to protect the brand, method, clients and most important you the stylist! We value our relationships with our Alumni and their clients. We take your investment seriously and don’t feel that it’s fair that you would invest into your business and education to not be protected from other stylists claiming to be “Foundation Hair Extension Certified” and potentially installing our very technical method incorrectly. This is also why we have a full list of our certified stylists listed by state here on our site. We DO NOT charge fees to our Alumni to be listed with us.

To ensure the best experience possible, I personally teach every alumni. To ensure that each student receives the necessary one on one time, we only allow 12 students in each class. Your registration deposit reserves one of those spots.

You have three options to choose from:

PAY IN FULL : Full amount of $4800 processed at time of registration.

PAYMENTS WITH NO INTEREST OR FEES: The initial $1600 nonrefundable deposit is required to hold your spot. You can then pay the remaining $3200 in two separate additional payments of $1600, each at your convenience. Pay them whenever you want. As long as ALL 3 payments are made 30 days prior to the first day of class. Meaning the full amount of $4800 is due 30 days prior to the first day of class. If no payments are made after your initial deposit, you will not be able to attend class and you will NOT be refunded the deposit.

12 MONTH FINANCING: The initial deposit of $1600 is required followed by 12 monthly payments of $305. Please be aware, included into the $305 monthly payment is a financing fee of $460 that is split in your monthly payment. However, NO interest will be applied as long as payments are made on time. In order to attend class you must have made your initial deposit, agree to the terms & conditions of the payment agreement and be current on monthly payments.

Total retreat cost on financing plan is $5260.
