Personal Hands On Training

I have personally taught every single certified stylist I have. You will be taught by me personally with the help of my assistant. I know them all, they become my friends, we build lasting relationships. Having a personal relationship with each one of our Alumni (certified stylists) is what makes our culture so special. Class is four full days of in person, one-on-one, detailed, hands on instruction. With me standing right next to you, helping you every step of the way.

Keeping Retreats Small On Purpose

I teach because I truly love to educate and help others. For me, this has never been about the money. It’s about building connections with stylists as well as clients to grow a strong community. You will never be in a room with 40 plus people. That’s not personal and I find no joy in that. I keep my classes small on purpose! I only take 12 students per class to ensure that each one of you gets the personal one-on-one attention you need to truly be successful. I teach because I want to see you succeed! It truly feeds my soul! Being able to teach is a gift and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of your journey.

A Welcoming Environment

Retreat style class is the only way I teach. No unfamiliar salons or cold hotel conference rooms. I like my class to feel warm and welcoming. Where everyone is on equal ground. I find everyone learns better when they are comfortable. Which the reason I host my class in a beautiful Airbnb. There everyone can stay, be comfortable, and enjoy themselves while they learn.

What Is Included

The price of class includes:

• Four full days of hands on education, plus your stay (This includes the night before class starts and the night after class ends).

•Dinner the night of your arrival. Arriving the night before allows me to treat you at our welcome dinner. Here you can meet and mingle with your fellow stylists, get comfortable with your surroundings, and get a good nights rest before class begins.

•The Foundation by S.Green professional kit. Our kit includes everything you will need not only for class, but also everything you need to hit the ground running when you return to your salon.

Continued Help Long After Class Ends

I am always here to help. All of my Alumni (stylists who have already taken my class) have my personal cell phone number if they need help. All Alumni have the opportunity to attend my class again for free through what we call Alumni refresher spots. I love having Alumni in Class! They ask questions that new students don’t think to ask and those questions can really help our new students dive deeper and understand the method even more. It creates a unique environment for both the new students and our Alumni. One where they can personally talk to other certified stylists who have been in their shoes and implemented Foundation Hair Extensions in their own businesses.

Intensive Four Day Learning Retreat

• Night Of Arrival •

Arrive the night before class begins and join us for a welcome dinner. Get to know us and each other before class starts. Our goal is to tame some of the nerves you may be feeling so you’re completely at ease and comfortable when we dive into class and this method. Be sure to get a good nights rest before we begin.

• Day One •

Dive in. Learning and understanding the secrets behind the method. Discover the beauty behind the technical side and the artistry side of the method coming together to create perfect results for your clients. Learn how to have meaningful consultations that create life long clients, by educating and helping them discover what is possible.

Placement is everything. Be bold. Our placement techniques are part of what make The Foundation by S.Green special and unique.

And finally… lots of BRAIDING! Learn our unique and special way of creating the Foundation braid!

• Day Two •

More practice braiding until we have it perfected.

Learn all of our secret and special techniques that we use to secure our braids. Practice the art of sewing, learn why we “stitch up”, what makes our stitches so special and why the special thread we use is so important.

Weft education, there are so many new types of wefts out there. We spend time discussing the pros and cons to each one. We will also be discussing all the different textures available in extension hair for your curly hair clients. We dive into the specifics so you feel like an expert when you get back behind the chair.

Falls & Toppers. Learn how to use Foundation Hair Extensions to help clients who are balding on top.

Learn how to create small sections of braids for various situations, including frontals.

• Day Three •

Hair Extension Color Theory!

We take a break from practicing the technical Side of the method, and dive into the artistry side of extensions.

Day three is all about hair extension color theory because it is completely different from traditional color theory. Stylists will learn all our tips and tricks to combine the two. Learn all of Shaylie’s special color blending techniques that create seamless color blends with your clients natural hair.

Highlights, lowlights, dimensional color, lived in color, tricky undertones, vivid’s… learn how to do it all with extension hair! We cover it all!

(Stylists have attended our retreat just for this day! Color theory day is something that truly sets us apart.)

• Day Four •

More Practice. Practice. Practice.

We discuss how to change your client’s regimens and I share my personal recommendations that will help your clients investment in their extension hair last while simultaneously getting their natural hair healthier. We’ll talk about all my favorite products for extensions, social media, and most importantly REAL marketing to help grow your hair extension business. You receive your certificates and we take pictures to celebrate the occasion.

  • It doesn't matter if you just graduated hair school, or have an established clientele and have been doing extensions for years. Foundation Hair Extensions is so different and unique, that it won't matter if you've done extensions before or not. We often are told by stylists who have done extensions for years that this is a “completely different approach” to extensions. They love it and can implement our approach with other methods they also offer. For less experienced stylists, because this class covers EVERY ASPECT of hair extensions, it is a GREAT class for stylists looking to get into extensions.

  • Well, guess what… I am a terrible braider! That is part of how this special technique of braiding was born! I could not do a braid to save my life in hair school, and I still can’t french braid hair. My family was famous for braided hair extensions and I couldn’t braid. Months and months of trial and error. I finally found my own unique way of creating the braids that worked for me and it turns out it is so gentle it works on EVERYONE! And ANYONE can do it! Even terrible braiders! I have never had someone attend my class that I couldn’t teach it to. Everyone who takes my class leaves being able to do Foundation braids!

  • YEAH. It’s a tried and true method that has stood the test of time and trends. Braided sew-ins have been around forever! There are lots of different versions- just like beaded methods. They all are unique in their own way. Have you heard of protective braid styles? It’s because braids are so healthy for your hair! The first methods of braided hair extensions goes all the way back to ancient Egypt. Mummies have been found with hair extensions still braided into their hair. There is a reason this method is still around after all of these years.

  • Just like beaded methods, each braided method is a little different. There are lots of different types of braiding techniques. They all are amazing and serve a purpose! Foundation Hair Extensions is truly a unique method of braiding. The way that we create our braids is not done with excessive tension or excess pulling on the hair. It is a unique braiding pattern with specific hand placement that creates a strong, solid braided foundations without pulling the hair. Making it extremely comfortable and safe for ALL HAIR TYPES! I can do it on ANYONE! No matter how thin and fine, or coarse and thick. Also, it is ergonomically correct for the Stylist to do!

  • Aside from our unique way of braiding, we also do some very special and technical things to our braids before we sew hair onto them. It really is the magic behind making this method work in all hair types! Those special secrets were taught to me by my amazing grandmother, Linda, who specialized in this method for over 35 years. Ensuring that they never slide out or “slip”. These special techniques- that have worked for so many clients for so many years- make this method a tested, tried and true, solid, and safe method for all!

  • Did you know I have Rheumatoid arthritis and I braid hair all day long? This is what I specialize in. I do it all day long, 5 days a week. I could not continue doing it if it was hurting me physically. When I say the way we create our braids is different, I mean it. Think about how relaxed your hands would be if you were not doing something that required excessive tension or pulling. It may be hard to wrap your mind around, but hopefully you will come to class so I can teach you!

  • You are responsible to bring your own shears, a flat iron, and your own tripod. Everything else is provided in your kit!  

  • Included in your 5 night stay is your welcome dinner, beyond that we make all other meals easy by booking reservations. Should you choose, stylists are free to attend budget friendly group dinners where you are responsible for your own meals. We also start off our retreat with a group trip to the grocery store where you are able to stock up on all you might need during your time with us. Further information on this is will be sent in your welcome email post registration.

  • We require all of our students and Alumni to sign and adhere to our NDA policies. The sole purpose of our NDA is to protect the brand, method, clients and most important you the stylist! We value our relationships with our Alumni and their clients. We take your investment seriously and don’t feel that it’s fair that you would invest into your business and education to not be protected from other stylists claiming to be “Foundation Hair Extension Certified” and potentially installing our very technical method incorrectly. This is also why we have a full list of our certified stylists listed by state here on our site. We DO NOT charge fees to our Alumni to be listed with us.

  • To ensure the best experience possible, I personally teach every alumni. To ensure that each student receives the necessary one on one time, we only allow 12 students in each class. Your registration deposit reserves one of those spots.

    You have three options to choose from:

    PAY IN FULL : Full amount of $4500 processed at time of registration.

    PAYMENTS WITH NO INTEREST OR FEES: The initial $1500 nonrefundable deposit is required to hold your spot. You can then pay the remaining $3000 each at your convenience. However, all payments (the full amount of $4500) is due 30 days prior to the first day of class. If no payments are made after your initial deposit, you will not be able to attend class and you will NOT be refunded the deposit.

    12 MONTH FINANCING: The initial deposit of $1500 is required followed by 12 monthly payments of $290. Please be aware, included into the $290 monthly payment is a financing fee of $480 that is split in your monthly payment. However, no interest will be applied as long as payments are made on time. In order to attend class you must have made your initial deposit, agree to the terms & conditions of the payment agreement and be current on monthly payments.

Cancelations & Refunds

For Foundation Hair Extension Retreats

All $1500 deposits to reserve a spot at one of our retreats are NOT refundable. If you paid in full, $1500 of the total $4500 will not be refunded. Any amount of money paid beyond $1500 is refundable if you cancel more than 30 days prior to your class date. Any cancellations within 30 days of your class date will not be refunded. However, if you need to cancel within 30 days of your retreat date you will be able to transfer your payment/ payments toward a class at a later date with no fees or extra charges.
