It’s Almost Here!!!
We Are So Excited To Have You Join Us In Park City, UT
September 9th - 14th!
First, I want to personally thank all of you for choosing The Foundation by S. Green and coming to The Foundation Academy! We know there are a lot of methods and a lot of education out there, we are honored you chose us! Teaching is a true joy in my life, and is considered an honor and a privilege for all of us at The Foundation Academy!
I take your trust in me, my educators, and this method very seriously. I appreciate you choosing and trusting us with your education!
Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you!
Here is my cell phone number in case you don’t already have it, 801.787.0378. Please save my number and if you run into any problems, please call me. Lexie Conklin, also known as “Lou”, who is a Lead Educator at The Foundation Academy will be assisting me at this class. Please save her number, 801-616-9985 and call her if you need anything and can’t reach me. Our Alumni, Janae Gubeli, who is also one of our very talented educators at The Foundation Academy, will also be assisting me at this class to ensure that everyone has plenty of one-on-one help throughout the entire retreat. Please save her number as well, 435-592-4934. A few weeks prior to class, I will be sending out a group text that will include everyone attending this retreat on it. New Students and Returning Alumni. That text will have even MORE information for you. So, please watch for it and if you have any further questions after receiving it, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
Many of you will be flying in from other states. If any of you would like to meet up at the airport and share an Uber, Lyft, or rental car to the Retreat House or the meeting location, you can communicate and connect with each other via the group text. Riding together is a great option! It gives you the opportunity to meet each other on the way to class and saves you each some money. Please keep me informed on who is riding with who and when you will be arriving. Just so I know everyone is taken care of and safe! I like to keep track of all my people!
All FINAL INVOICES have been sent, so please MAKE SURE your payment terms are taken care of. You will not be allowed to attend the retreat if you are not paid in full, or have agreed & signed the financing terms and are current on all of your payments. If you have any questions or are unsure about your payment status & terms please contact:
Jess @ 801.404.7950.
Here is all the information you need to be prepared for class:
Retreat House Address:
11986 Gemini Way,
Park City, Utah 84060
Meeting Location Prior to Check In:
518 North 100 East,
Lehi, Utah 84043
Check In:
September 9th, 2026
Because of the location of the Retreat House, we will be meeting at a Meeting Location and carpooling together up to the Retreat House. Please meet us at the Meeting Location at 4:30 PM if you would like to ride with us up to the Retreat House together (Luggage can also be stored at the Meeting Location if your flight gets in earlier. Watch for more information on this and suggestions for activities near by in the group text). Check in is at 5 pm. NOT earlier! Please do not try to check in earlier than the scheduled check in time as this can create issues with the hosting company getting the property ready. Also, I need time to set up for class before everyone arrives. This is a bit like Christmas morning. So, please be respectful of the check-in time. Our retreat is being held in a resort community so parking is limited. At this time we are only allowed 5 vehicles at the house. We are working with the hosting company to work out spots for other vehicles to park as close as possible so, please be aware if you're driving to the retreat your vehicle may or may not be at the house location. For those of you who are local to Utah and already know each other, ride sharing to this retreat would be greatly appreciated! We will send out more detailed instructions in the group text once we have worked through them to the best of our abilities.
Check Out:
September 14th, 2026
Check out is at 10 am. Please make sure you check with us on the requirements of check out prior to leaving, as every house has different requirements. (Stripped bedding, garbage bagged, dishes in dishwasher, towels, etc.) We never know what is required until the night before check out. We want to be respectful of this beautiful property and their rules.
Food:
The night of arrival, we always make a group trip to a near by grocery store close to the house. So please don’t feel like you have to pack food if you don’t want to. We will get groceries once you arrive! Please plan to have breakfasts, lunches, snacks, drinks, etc… at the house. You're welcome to store everything in the kitchen (s) and the refrigerator(s). There are coffee pots available for our coffee drinkers. All I ask is that everyone be respectful of everyone else’s things! Please do not eat something or use something that isn’t yours without asking first! I do encourage you to be very thoughtful about your groceries and meal planning. Everyone buys way more food than needed- which is better than running out- but throwing money away isn't fun either. Please be thoughtful about your meal planning.
Dinners:
We will be going out each night for dinners and hope that you will join us! This is a special part of class! Those who attend walk away with a lot more out of this class just by attending these dinners. I encourage you to join us! I make reservations in advance because we are such a large group. So please contact me if there is a night you are NOT planning on joining us. Otherwise, I will count you in every night. We may have some local alumni who may be coming to join us for dinner to meet you all as well! This is a part of what makes our culture so special. I’m excited for you to get to know them too! If you have a special diet, any food allergies, or any issues with certain types of food PLEASE reach out to me and let me know as soon as possible!!! This way I can take that into consideration when finalizing our dining reservations. We are all foodies and love to eat! We try to pick reasonable but good restaurants! I will be including the list of restaurants, menus, and reservation details in the group text so you can check out the menus in advance.
Accommodations:
We will be staying in a big, gorgeous home up in the mountain community of Sky Ridge near Park City, Midway, and Heber, Utah. Right on the banks of Jordanelle Reservoir, with the most incredible views of the water. We absolutely love Midway and Heber! These two cities are where all of our favorite restaurants are located, so be ready for good dinners!
Because this home is in a strict resort community, we will have to be mindful about noise, smoking, vaping, and vehicles. Also, due to health issues that can be very sensitive to exposure to vape (I personally have a heart condition that gets bad when exposed to it and we have people attending with asthma as well), there is ABSOLUTELY NO vaping inside the house. There is absolutely NO smoking or Vaping allowed on the property either and there are cameras all over the property. So, if you need to smoke or vape, no worries, just please go for a walk through the neighborhood. I will include more information about all of the house rules in the group text, but I want to make it very clear that I expect everyone to be respectful of ALL of the property’s rules and the property itself. Please treat this home as if it were your family's home! You will be responsible for any fees incurred at your expense. You agree to this by attending the class.
I try to avoid bunk rooms if I can, but with a group as large as ours it is usually impossible. Everyone will definitely have their own cozy bed, but everybody should plan on a roommate. To be honest, this is part of what we love about our retreats! The relationships and friendships that are built through staying together are amazing! Honestly, I have seen some of the most amazing lifelong friendships come from sharing a room at class! Our Alumni will frequently tell you that whoever stays in the bunk room walks away with the MOST from the class. This is absolutely true! I've witnessed it time and time again. This Retreat provides a unique opportunity to connect, make friends, and network with fellow Alumni from across the nation. This is part of what makes our culture and community so unique and so special! We do have specific assigned sleeping arrangements and assigned bathrooms. I will give everyone their room/ bathroom assignment when you check in to the Retreat House. A lot of thought goes into these sleeping arrangements and they are set up this way for very specific reasons! Please contact me if you have any questions.
Also, you will be leaving with A LOT more than what you came with (your kit)! Please make sure when packing to come to class that you leave some room in your suitcase. So that you have room on the way home for all of your new things!
Staying In Utah:
A lot of our classes are held in Utah and we've learned a few things for those that are coming to visit us for the first time. First, if you are not from here and you are not used to being at higher altitudes for long periods of time - I recommend getting some altitude sickness medicine just in case. You can get it over the counter at most drug stores. Altitude sickness is rare, but it is a real thing. I would hate for you to not feel well while you are here. Second, Utah is known for its beautiful canyons and mountains- that is why we host this retreat in the mountains, so that everyone gets to truly experience the beauty of Utah while you are here. However, that means most travel will be on winding roads. If you get carsick or motion sickness, I HIGHLY recommend getting BONINE (better than Dramamine and will not make you drowsy). It is also an over the counter medicine you can get at most drug stores and on Amazon. We all swear by it! Last but not least, allergies. Keep in mind that you may be affected by certain things here in Utah that you are not used to being around back home. I recommend bringing some allergy medication just in case. We want you to enjoy your time here!
Weather:
September in Utah is a bit uncertain as far as weather is concerned. Especially in the mountains. So, please pack layers. It can still feel like summer here in September and can be very warm during the days. However, sometimes winter can come early and it can snow as early as September. It is generally cool in the mornings and the evenings this time of year no matter what the weather is- especially in the mountains. Make sure you bring a jacket or sweatshirt.
Items You Need For Class:
Shears (both reg and texturizing shears)
Flat Iron
Any favorite clips you love. (you will get my favorites in your kit, but we all like different things. So, if you have favorites- please feel free to bring them.)
A Mannequin Tripod (You MUST have a tripod for class! So please, please, PLEASE make sure that you have a good one!) Also, your tripod MUST have rubber foot pads so we do not scratch the floors! Please call me with any questions.
Attending Alumni:
Please bring your ENTIRE KIT! You should already have everything that you need in the kit you received in your original class. So please make sure to bring it with you- including your mannequin and a Tripod as well! Please make sure you have one! I will not be bringing any. Also, because of filming and social media content, we do kindly ask that any boxes, hair barrier sheets, notebooks, etc… with the old branding be left at home. Items with OLD BRANDING will NOT be allowed. You can order new items in our new branding on the website and I would be happy to bring them to class for you. Just reference that the order is for class in the “install date” section when you are checking out. Thank you for being mindful of this, we really appreciate it!
We are so excited you are coming!!!

Please be aware of that when booking flights. You are also more than welcome to use the group text to coordinate with the other people attending to see if carpooling back to the airport is an option. Everyone is generally wonderful about this and usually they are more than happy to help if the timing lines up. Otherwise, we will be driving back to our original Meeting Location after checkout. Ubers and Lyfts will be available at the original Meeting Location, about 30 min south of the airport. You will be able to get an Uber or Lyft from there (around 11 AM) to get back to the airport.
•One Last Thing•
If you have read this entire message, Please text me back these 4 things:
• The name of your favorite drink, candy bar, or treat
•Your arrival and departure information (including exact flight times, if you will have a rental car, or if you are driving in your own personal car)
•Any dietary restrictions, allergies, food preferences, or food aversions I should be aware of when making dinning reservations.
•How you would like your name spelled on your certificate- This might sound silly, but we have Alumni who keep their legal name (which is the name you register with) private and use a different name professionally, or they go by “Kate” instead of Katherine. We also have Alumni who get married in between signing up for this class and when the class actually takes place. We just like to confirm that we are using the name you would prefer on your certificate!
LASTLY,
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do what I love most! Sharing all of the knowledge that I have gained throughout my 22 year career by facilitating top notch education for stylists within our industry, truly feeds my soul! I truly believe it is what I was called to do in life. Thank you for making it possible for me to do what I love!
Love, Shaylie
